Instagram update will appear influencers in your feed even if you DON’T follow them

With the new Instagram update, influencers and will be forced to appear in your feed even if you don’t follow them. This is because Instagram is now updating so advertisers can pay them to promote their branded content.

instagram-influencers-oman-muscat

Instagram is having this update so that advertisers can promote their content and products to the users feed and will be displayed in both the users posts and stories as shown above. Previously, influencers had to use hashtags to ensure that they were being paid by their sponsorship, and they were of course many ways to do this but this was one of the known methods of doing this. With this new update, Instagram wants this content to be specialized so it can be easier for both the influencer and the sponsor to push their way through out to most users as possible. What has been causing the huge fuss about this new update is that if users only follow friends and family, influencers can still be able to appear on your feed even if you don’t follow these users. For instance, a brand could pay to show you a sponsored post by Will Smith for instance whether you follow him or not and whether the users account is private or not. This could be a huge win situation for Omani influencers and company corporates in Oman to have their awareness be spread to a much broader audience, but can be quite bothersome for users who choose to keep their circle limited to just family and friends. As Instagram explained in a post announcing the new format, “With branded content ads, businesses have an opportunity to tell their brand stories through creators’ voices, reach new audiences and measure impact. Using the tools available on the Facebook ads platform, businesses can reach targeted audiences beyond the people who follow the brand and creator accounts. And by running ads, they’ll have access to measurement and can optimize and test their campaigns against their set goals for more effective marketing campaigns.”

Apple Card: launch date in Oman

By announcing Apple Card, the company has made its first step into financial services with a numberless credit card which CEO Tim Cook calls the most significant change to card payments in 50 years.

Apple announced Monday (25) that it's launching a new credit card made for the iPhone. The card, which is both a digital card in the Wallet app and a physical MasterCard which offered in collaboration with Goldman Sachs. According to Apple, this new credit card meant to be easier to use and understand than most conventional credit cards. The card carries some fascinating benefits, like no late fees, no annual fees, no international fees, no over-limit fees, and a daily rewards program.

Users are able to get an apple card by signing up on their iPhone in the Apple Wallet app and get a digital card that they can use anywhere Apple Pay is accepted “within minutes.” Customers will also be able to track purchases, check balances, and see when their bill is due right from the app. According to apple; When you want to see how much you’re spending, there’s no need to log in to a separate website or app. Your totals are laid out for you in the Wallet app, by the week or by month.

They say the card makes it easy to spot trends in your spending as the spending categories are clearly highlighted with colors, so you can decide if you want to change them.

The tangible version of the Apple Card's design is what you would expect from Apple, the minimalism, debossed Apple logo, etched titanium slice, it immediately looks different and it takes a good security step by displaying only your name, without a card or CVV number. So all of that authorization information is stored directly in the Apple Wallet app.

This topic of this latest issue of Apple is very much trending at the moment around the world and it will be released to the market this summer. There's a good percentage of Apple loyal customers in Oman who are looking forward to this new payment method.

Al Aktham Restaurant Launches the first-ever Meter Grill Platter in Oman

Mirrors as a brand consultant always seeks to improve partners’ growth. In one of our weekly meetings with Al Aktham Restaurant, we suggested coming up with a unique idea to make a buzz in the market. So after a few rounds of brainstorming sessions, we proposed launching a new item which is a 1 Meter long grill platter.  We then explained to the client that this can possibly create a hype among the people. We started with creative designs while the client ordered to manufacture a wooden 1M long plate.

Al Alaktham Restaurant has almost 30 years experience in the market and prepared a mouthwatering grill spread.

Finally, we launched the campaign on digital space. The sales and interaction with the campaign so far are more than the expectations. The demand is high not only for dining orders but also for deliveries. We faced some challenges because of delivery demands such as companies asking to deliver the platter to their offices and we were informed that setting up the platter at the companys’ premises excited the employees. They further said the staff of the companies applauded after the setup was done. With the success of this campaign, our client managed to boost their monthly revenue. The campaign is ongoing and the photos of the 1M grill have been shared virally all over social media.

Teachers day 2019

Some of us forget to appreciate the smallest things in life and even the biggest ones such as who provided so much knowledge to help us growing up. In the daily hustle and bustle of life we unintentionally leave out important stuff that should be celebrated without fail – like our teachers.

This is the video that we have done for Caribou Coffee in 2018 for the “Teachers Day”. Please let us know what you think in the comment section or DM us right away. Wanna make awesome videos? Get in touch!

How Businesses in Oman can take advantage of Social Media Artificial Intelligence

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is growing very fast in business. Social media is no different. Companies are able to leverage their businesses using social media through AI.

The everyday evolving nature of social media makes it very hard for companies to keep a track of all new trends. Hence the companies are seeking the help of AI. The AI-based algorithms can analyze everything that is happening on social media platform in real time and feed that information as data so marketers will be able to utilize them in smart ways. It’s helping the companies to get a better understanding about their customers and their buying patterns, Which means, they are able to market more relevant products to the right targeted audience.

While investment in AI is increasing around the world, companies in Oman adoption of AI technologies is still lagging behind. We at MIRRORS encourage corporates and small businesses in Oman leveraging AI in efforts to gain market share or expand their products and services in the smartest ways.

How will Oman welcome WhatsApp new updated version with limiting message forwarding for 5 times?

Now you will no longer be able to forward WhatsApp messages to more than 5 times. Announcement from WhatsApp on Monday 21st January 2019 said it was restricting worldwide how many times any given message can be forwarded from 20 to 5.

Spreading of Mendacious campaigns and fake stories on WhatsApp has become a big problem around the world. Unlike other social media channels like Twitter and Facebook, WhatsApp messages are private and encrypted. Hence it’s very difficult to track the origin of the message.

WhatsApp spokesman said, “We’ll continue to listen to user feedback about their experience, and over time, look for new ways of addressing viral content.”

Countries like Oman with a fewer number of social problems may be affected by this release negatively as friends and groups are restricted to forward their messages. WhatsApp is already playing a major role in the communication system in Oman, not only among friends but within companies.  Due to it’s fast and convenience many companies in Oman are using WhatsApp as a communication method. So we will have to wait and see how the local market will adapt to this new version.

The company will release an update with forwarding limit, first to Android devices and then to IOS devices accordingly. Oman is expected the new release in near future.

The Importance of Emotional Marketing for Building Customer Rapport

What Is Emotional Marketing?

Every day we will all experience a huge range of emotions - happiness, anger, relief, disappointment, sympathy, fear… the list goes on.

Emotions are the main motivator in everything we do. As consumers, they play a big part in the spending decisions we make.

The choice to make a purchase may seem a rational one, but its roots run much deeper. Effective marketing engages customers with emotion, not reason.

Take, for example, the iconic Hovis advert from 1973.This advert is not designed to reason with customers about bread; its success lies in its ability to stir feelings of wholesome nostalgia.

Why It Matters for Your Business

So why make the effort to engage your customers emotionally?

Whether you’re a recent startup or a successful business, the best way to stand out is by creating an emotional connection with your customers. It’s not enough just to sell a great product - you need your audience to buy into your brand’s ideology and the whole experience of doing business with you. Trigger the right emotions and you will attract new customers and, more importantly in the long run, build a level of trust in your brand and a stronger customer base. Remember: emotions trigger actions.

Whatever you’re selling, whether it’s vintage jewellery or a window-cleaning service, an emotional connection with the brand can and must be achieved for a brand to be successful.

If your customers connect with your brand, they’re more likely to buy your product - it’s that simple.

How to Engage Customers with Emotional Marketing

So how do you implement emotional marketing tactics in your business plan?

Emotional marketing is largely about giving your customers an ego boost. You need to assure them that they’re on the right track  and that they’re not alone in their anxieties.

Take, for example, the 2006 advert for Dove’s ‘Evolution’ campaign.

This ad sets Dove apart from its competitors: although it’s a cosmetics brand, they manage to convey that their concern is with ‘real’ beauty.

The ad aims to show how female beauty in the media is manipulated by clever makeup and photoshop editing. Dove is offering a comforting ‘truth’ for its image-conscious customers, instilling feelings of relief and empowerment - both positive emotions.

You can apply the same rules to your small business.

Here are our tips for using emotional marketing in your own branding strategy:

  • Get visual: a picture speaks a thousand words. It’s easier and more effective to use evocative images than to try and write compelling copy.
  • Identify with your customer. Put yourself in their shoes to really think what they might need from your product, and deliver it.
  • Embellish your service. Give your customer the best experience with extra bits and bobs. Create an email newsletter with helpful tips and news from your industry, if you’re selling a tangible product, consider the way it’s packaged and displayed. Show care in the little details and it can give your rapport with customers a big, subliminal boost!
  • Have a great website! A website should act as your front of shop. Whatever your product, a cohesive website with a few extra resources is a must. Consider including a blog, an image gallery, comprehensive contact information etc.

Effectively harness the power of emotion with your marketing tactics and you are guaranteed to gain trust and leads for your business.
